High quality, boutique, Australian Made!

There are a few iconic valve guitar amps that we at Mozztronics adore. Apart from the British 800 series amps, the other is a British 60’s amp used by the Beatles and Brian May (and many others). We have used the Top Boost channel as a basis for our solid state foot-switchable pedal, which we have named the “DriveLine”. DL are also the initials of a well known Melbourne musician this pedal was developed in honour of. This pedal is not a dirt pedal as such, it’s our emulation of this classic amp.

To do full justice to the original amp, and to get the maximum in tone versatility we included the full 2 knob tone stack and the Tone CUT in this pedal. A single tone control wasn’t going to cut it with this pedal.

GAIN controls the amount of gain from the first stage, BASS and TREBLE are the classic 2 knob tone stack and CUT is the tone cut circuit as found in the original amp. VOLUME adjusts the overall volume out of the pedal.

As with the amplifier this pedal replicates, at lower gain settings, you get the sparkle and touch of grit the amps are known and loved for. Turn the gain up for added rawkus-ness.

Davey Lane commented about this pedal “Just had a chance to try out these new pedals (DL-30 Driveline & TM1 Tonemeister). They’re both amazing and the best things you’ve done yet. Super creamy breakup on both”.   Thanks Davey, turn them up loud !

Many people have asked me, Moz, why did you choose these four amps to make pedal versions of. Each of these amps is (in my view) a classic amp. Each of these amps has a totally different tone stack design. Each of these amps, while having a push pull power stage uses different phase inverters and power tubes. The ’72 Orange has a bandaxall tone stack, cathodyne phase inverter & EL34 tubes, the Bassman has a fender tone stack, long tail pair phase inverter & 6L6 tubes, the Hiwatt has a hiwatt tone stack, long tail pair phase inverter & EL34 tubes, and the AC30 has a Vox tone stack, long tail pair phase inverter & EL84 tubes. Each tone stack, phase inverter and tube type will give a different sound, breakup differently and respond to playing style differently.

In my opinion, all other amps can be classified as variants of these four classic amp designs, so if you want a soldano or boogie type sound (for example), grab a tonemeister pedal and turn the gain up.

But what about a JCM800 you may say. I reckon my EX1 expandrive does this type of sound very well already, so i have not done one as part of this set of four pedals.
TM1 Tonemeister, DL30 Driveline, HW1 wHoWatt, and OR1 Orange-e.

Mozztronics uses the industry standard Boss style 2.1mm center negative 9V DC socket for the power supply connection.
