Here is a very sweet Harmony H75 guitar from 1961 . The DeArmond gold foil pickups sound great , heaps of life in them and plenty of tonal variety . They have a percussive snap and twang, tight bass and a harmonically rich midrange that sounds great when each pickup is singled out or when paired together in any one of seven combinations. The laminated maple body has a wicked subtle flame and is structaully sound . The binding has aged gracefully and is intact . Minor marks and abrasions over the body . It has had a repro guard made which is yet to be fitted . The tuners have been replaced at some stage and one of the pickup toggles has been replaced also . It comes in a well fitting non original hardcase .
In 1960 this relatively flashy thinline hollow-body H-75 was the top-of-the-line model from Chicago-based Harmony. It graced the cover of the company's 1961 catalog, described as "Harmony's newest and finest" guitar.
